Day 6, Hour 2...

...experienced technical difficulties last night. But Tommie and The Bartender know people, so here's the synopsis of what went down in last night's second episode of the new season of 24:

7:00 - Bauer escapes from Fayed, calls CTU to try and get the airstrike against Assad cancelled. That annoying little guy from Ally McBeal talks the President out of cancelling it.

7:08 - Ahmed, it turns out, is a terrorist in Fayed's network. He returns to his house to retrieve a package that's hidden in a wall that Fayed needs. Jack busts in on Assad, and rescues both Assad, and the man who betrayed Assad. He gets them out seconds before the house is destroyed in a millitary helicopter strike.

7:19 - The President's sister, who is an attorney for an Islamic Organization, and the leader of that organization are visited by the FBI. In a blatant disregard of civil rights, they demand the personnel files for the entire group. She tells them to leave, as they have no warrant, and this is illegal. Then she calls her brother the President about it.

7:25 - Fayed sends a suicide bomber to blow up the LA Subway Station.

7:31 - Assad mand Jack torture the other survivor from the house to learn where Fayed's men are. Assad ends up killing him. Chloe and her only facial expression review the video tape from one of the helicopters involved in the attack on Assad. She sees Jack rescue Assad and one other man.

7:37 - The FBI come back to the Islamic organization with an improper warrant, and the President's sister deletes the files they want. She and the leader of the organization are arrested by the FBI.

7:44 - Ahmed's friend Scott from across the street sees the racist carpenter dude sneak into Ahmed's house. The guy beats Ahmed up, including slamming him into a glass table, which puts a huge chunk of glass in Ahmed's leg. (That will be important in episodes 3 and 4, by the way...) Ahmed shoots the dude and kills him. Then he turns the gun on Scott and tells him to "do what I say".

7:50 - Jack and Assad stop the subway bomber, with Jack kicking him off the train just before the bomb goes off. It still does so, but only the bomber is killed. Assad is following his companion, the handler who delivered him to the train.

7:57 - Fayed hears that the LA Subway bombing didn't go quite as planned...but two other attacks in the USA did, so he dismissed the news as unimportant. CTU learns that Jack stopped the bomber from killing everyone on the train when the conductor reports in on what happened. They find out that Fayed is responsible for all the attacks, and they inform the President.

7:59 - Jack and Assad go after the handler, hoping he will lead them to Fayed.
