Tuesday Rock Roundup

Reports out of London say the world tour that Paul McCartney is planning to start at the end of this year will be his last on such a grand scale. According to the Mirror, he wants to spend more time with daughter Beatrice. McCartney will reportedly play 100 shows over two years, his longest itinerary since 1989-90, when he played 108 shows in Europe, the US, Japan and Brazil. His spokesman had no comment.

After performing with the Foo Fighters along with John Paul Jones on Saturday in London, Jimmy Page told the Telegraph that Led Zeppelin will reunite for more live gigs in the fall of 2009. He added that individual commitments are preventing them working any sooner. Robert Plant is on tour with Alison Krauss with shows in New York tonight and tomorrow night.

KISS singer-guitarist Paul Stanley has posted a note on the band's website to knock down persistent reports out of Europe that the band has signed to do a reality show in which they'll pick their eventually replacements. Stanley writes, "First of all, contrary to what was said by anyone, there is no signed deal. Secondly, if we were to do a 'KISS Two,' and I don't rule that out, it would be in addition to, and never in place of KISS." Thirdly, I have no respect for my band's legacy by even considering this. Ok, maybe I added the last one...

When Ted Nugent performs in Deroit on July 4th, it will be his 6000th concert. His first public performance was in 1958 at the Polish Arts Festival at the State Fairgrounds in his native Michigan. Yes...50 years ago. Nugent's first guitar teacher, Joe Podorsek, was there, and he will be in the crowd for this show.
