Tuesday Rock Roundup

Tickets for U2's North American tour went on sale yesterday, and records were set in East Rutherford, New Jersey (82-thousand tickets); Chicago (65-thousand); and Foxboro, Massachusetts (72-thousand). Second shows were added in each of those cities, as well as in Toronto. The tour starts June 30th in Barcelona, Spain, with the North American tour getting under way September 12th at Soldier Field.

Tonight FOX presents The Osbournes: Reloaded...Ozzy, Sharon and kids Jack and Kelly are back in semi-reality TV with a variety show that features stunts, pranks, taped comedy segments and music. Each episode features musical performance from Ozzy, Kelly and guest stars, like Fall Out Boy, who'll show up on the third episode...assuming it makes it that far. Pamela Anderson will make a guest appearance in segment titled "Guess the Guest".

Bob Dylan is giving you a free preview of his new album, Together Through Life, today with a free download of the song, "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'." It's available as a free download until midnight tonight at Bob Dylan dot com. The album will be in stores on April 28th. Dylan performs in Hannover, Germany tonight.

Queensryche launch yet another concept album today. But unlike the Operation Mindcrime albums, American Soldier is based on true life. Singer Geoff Tate penned all the lyrics after doing extensive interviews with veterans of every American war since World War Two. Tate admits that the project was overwhelming at first, but once he started doing more and more interviews, he found himself "wrapped up in it." He says his greatest hope for the project is that is "pays proper respect" to the people who've served in the Armed Forces over the past 60 years.

A home recording made by Jimi Hendrix in New York in 1968 will be auctioned off next month. The tape contains 14 tracks, including a version of Bob Dylan's "Tears of Rage" and songs from Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album. It is expected to sell for between 70- and 140-thousand dollars at the London auction on April 28th.
