List of the best Classic Rock Tours This Summer...

With Memorial Day Weekend upon us, the summer concert season has officially begun. Here's a rundown of this year's big tours and festivals.

Tours:

  • Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood start a 14-city tour on June 10th in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
  • Aerosmith and Z-Z Top hook up for a tour starting June 10th in suburban St. Louis. ZZ joins them on June 21st in Virginia.
  • Crue Fest Two features tour namesake Motley Crue joined by Godsmack, Theory of a Dead Man and Drowning Pool.
  • Def Leppard, Cheap Trick and Poison hit the road June 23rd in Camden, New Jersey.
  • Styx, REO Speedwagon and 38 Special are currently making their way across the country.
  • Crosby, Stills and Nash are out on their 40th anniversary tour.
  • Elton John and Billy Joel are once again out on their Face-to-Face tour.
  • Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson are teaming up for a tour of minor league ballparks that starts July 2nd in Sauget, Illinois and runs through mid-August. Of course, that tour hits Coveleski on July 4th.
  • The Allman Brothers Band and Widespread Panic are teaming up for some late-summer amphitheater shows this year. The two Southern jam bands will hook up starting August 21st in Camden, New Jersey.

Festivals:

  • Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music Festival runs June 11th through the 14th and features big names Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Phish, David Byrne and Elvis Costello.
  • And organizers are still trying to secure a spot for a 40th anniversary Woodstock concert.
