Bo Diddley is in an Omaha, Nebraska hospital after suffering a stroke on Sunday. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was admitted after appearing disoriented following a show at Harrahs Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He is in intensive care with his condition listed as "guarded."
The Grateful Dead and Rhino records will re-introduce the band's From the Vault series with the third and final installment, Three From the Vault. Recorded on February 19th, 1971 at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, New York, this two-disc set contains 20 songs -- including the second-ever performances of "Loser," "Bertha," "Playing in the Band," "Greatest Story Ever Told" and "Wharf Rat," plus the world premieres (at the time) of "Bird Song" and "Deal." It will be in stores on June 26th, as will re-issues of the first two releases in the series, One From the Vault and Two From the Vault -- which will come with a bonus of music not included on the original 1992 release. Also in stores that day is a special-edition, seven-disc box set called The Vault Box, which contains all three From the Vault releases.
The Rolling Stones are looking to release a D-V-D of their Bigger Bang tour next month. The Biggest Bang will contain more than seven hours of live performances and interviews, six songs released for the first time on D-V-D and six others that have never been released in any format. There are also duets with Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Vedder and Dave Matthews, as well as a tour documentary. The Stones are back on the road June 5th in Belgium.
