Ozzy Osbourne spent part of his weekend in a Denver hospital having a "minor outpatient procedure." The brief statement from Osbourne's management didn't reveal what Osbourne was treated for but said he was released early Sunday morning and flew to Kansas City, Missouri for tonight's Ozzfest stop. Denver T-V station K-U-S-A reported that Osbourne underwent surgery for a blood clot on Saturday night following his show and that he had complained of leg pain for most of the day.
In case you were not one of the 28-thousand people on hand for Eric Clapton's second Crossroads Guitar Festival Saturday in suburban Chicago, you can still see highlights on the M-S-N In Concert page. A D-V-D will be released on November 6th.
The Led Zeppelin vaults are being opened up again this fall with a re-issue and a new compilation. The Song Remains the Same film and soundtrack are due out in remastered and expanded editions on November 20th. The soundtrack features six songs not on the original album, while the D-V-D includes 40 minutes of bonus footage, including a T-V news report about the band's money being stolen from New York's Drake Hotel during their three-night run at Madison Square Garden in 1973. The new compilation on the way is called Mothership, and the two-disc set features 24 tracks picked by Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. The set will also be available in a Deluxe Edition that adds a D-V-D with 90 minutes of live performance footage culled from the Led Zeppelin D-V-D, as well as a Collector's Edition and a Vinyl Edition. Mothership is in stores November 13th.
Paul Stanley continues to recover from a rapid heartbeat suffered last Friday in California before a KISS concert. He says, "I am absolutely fine. I'm going to the gym as usual, painting as usual, and will be going into the recording studio this week. Like many, I have had a rapid heart beat condition most of my life and I never have had any type of restrictions. When I've had an episode, although momentarily disrupting and taxing, it has no residual effect. This is nothing new and my doctors have known about it. In short, it doesn't change, hasn't changed and won't change my life." KISS did the show without Stanley, performing for the first time as a three-piece band.
