After The Reunion: Now What?

Following Led Zeppelin's reunion last night at the O-2 Arena in London, many of the celebs in attendance headed over the Indigo room in the O-2 complex for another performance -- from Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings, who also opened the Zeppelin show. They were joined on stage by two other legendary Atlantic recording artists -- Sam Moore and Percy Sledge. Many of the artists in attendance were buzzing about Zeppelin's performance. Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford told us, "[To use] an English term, 'Not too shabby'," adding that "Kashmir" was a personal highlight. Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones agreed with Rutherford, telling us, "It was like a trip back through time. There were some moments that were just so powerful." U-2 guitarist The Edge said, "They weren't playing it safe, they were going for it." And while Wyman thought Zeppelin was good, he did not care for the sound, saying, "They made my ears bleed."
Now that the long awaited Led Zeppelin reunion show has happened, what's next? Rumors of a tour have been swirling for weeks, but Led Zeppelin manager Bill Curbishley says nothing's been booked or even been talked about. "Everybody's been pushing for that, [so] I guess the subject's going to come up. And it's entirely up to them. You know, they're at a stage in their life where's misery's optional." Randy Phillips of A-E-G Live, the concert promotion company that runs the O-2, tells the L-A Times that he planned to meet with Curbishley in London this week "and hand him a huge offer." Robert Plant, who has seemed to be the most reluctant member about a tour, said in an interview with London's Sunday Times, "It wouldn't be such a bad idea to play together from time to time." But he then backtracked a moment later and said, "No, no, no. Somebody else inside me was saying that. Not the bloke from Wolverhampton, the bloke from the land of the ice and snow, the bloke with his shirt unbuttoned down to his waist -- and he can shut up. We're not having any more of that. It was great, but I've got to go down the highway now." As of now, all Plant has lined up is a tour in April with Allison Kraus to promote their duets album Raising Sand.
