Tuesday Rock Roundup

Robert Plant is hoping to record a second album with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss, following the success of their debut effort, Raising Sand. He tells Britain's Guardian newspaper that writing, "seems like the natural thing to do." He remains vague on whether he turned down the chance to do a Led Zeppelin tour, saying that he doesn't "hold the keys to any decision by anybody to do anything".

Yes singer Jon Anderson suffered a severe asthma attack on May 13th and is currently recovering in the hospital. He is asking his fans to say a prayer for a speedy recovery.

Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer says after eight months off, he and his bandmates will resume recording their next album this summer. If everything goes well, he thinks it could be out by Christmas or early next year. The sessions have been delayed as guitarist Joe Perry recovers from knee surgery. This will be Aerosmith's first studio album of original material since 2001's Just Push Play.

Black Sabbath are cashing in on the success of the Iron Man movie as their song of the same name is now number-five on Billboard's ringtone chart.

A very special week of shows by former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh marked Sunday night's closing of San Francisco's Warfield Theater. In honor of the Dead's many appearances at the 22-hundred-seat venue, Lesh revisited his old band's early career, album by album, in five shows spread over six nights. Friday, Lesh and friends covered Workingman's Dead and American Beauty, the two 1970 albums that made the Dead a huge success. Earlier in the week Lesh and his friends played Aoxomoxoa and Live Dead. His Grateful Dead bandmate Bob Weir turned up Tuesday to help out on the band's 1967 self-titled debut and 1968's Anthem of the Sun. Very cool idea.
