George Harrison's handwritten lyrics to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" sold this week at auction for 300-thousand dollars. The early draft, whose wording differed slightly from what The Beatles recorded for The White Album -- and included an extra, unused verse -- was the highlight of a Scottsdale, Arizona memorabilia auction that also included a picture of a bird drawn by John Lennon at age 11. That item went for a bit over 30-thousand dollars. That "lost verse" as penned by George: I look from the wings, at the play you are staging // While my guitar gently weeps // As I'm sitting here, doing nothing but aging // Still my guitar gently weeps.
