Pat's Valentine's Day Recipes For Guys Who Can't Cook Worth A Damn

Our thanks to Pat from the kitchen at Roc's Sports Cafe for sharing on the air with us this morning...

LINGUINI W/GARDEN VEGGIES

1/2 purple onion

3 garlic cloves minced or 1 tbsp preminced
4 lg mushrooms
1/2 red & green bell pepper
1/2 cup broccoli
4 oz. linguini (or favorite pasta)
3 sprigs fresh basil or 1 tbsp dried
3 tbsp butter
4 oz Swanson's Chicken stock
1/3 cup wine
1/3 parm cheese
1 bag precut frozen veggie blends or any fresh eggies you like

Melt butter, cook all veggies 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and wine, cook 1 minute. Add all remaining ingredients, add cooked pasta. Toss together. Serve in large pasta bowl with garlic bread.

INDOOR GRILLED STEAKS W/CHEDDAR MASHED POTATOES

1/2 cup butter
1 tbsp finely chopped onion
6 sliced mushrooms
1 tsp minced garlic
2 steaks of your choice

Preheat indoor grill, cook steaks to desired temp. Melt butter in a pan, add all the other ingredients, pour over steaks when done.

Add three large cubed potatoes to a pot, cook until they're done. Mix with a blender with two tablespoons of butter, half a cup of milk, and a cup of shredded cheese. Use instant potatoes if you prefer.

Chocolate Dip Strawberries

Buy strawberries. Nice ones. Buy Baker's Dipping Chocolate and heat it up in the microwave, per the instructions on the box. Dip the strawberries. DO NOT HAND THEM TO HER ON FAST-FOOD NAPKINS, as that kills the effect in a hurry. Put them on a nice doiley or something on her pillow. Reap benefits.
