Entertainment News - Spears Edition

Now that her daughter Jamie Lynn has joined older sister Britney in the scandal sheets, Lynne Spears' parenting-advice book has been shelved. Lynne's Pop Culture Mom, in which she shares pointers on how to keep kids on the straight and narrow, was supposed to be out this spring. According to publisher Thomas Nelson, the book has been delayed indefinitely but not canceled." Uh-huh. Sure.

Meanwhile, Britney won't be able to use LA's swanky Four Seasons hotel as a crash pad anymore, because the joint's management has requested she not darken its doorstep again. According to TMZ-dot-com, hotel management is fed up with the paparazzi that show up whenever Brit checks in, as well as by her erratic behavior. Britney's already been banned from the swanky Chateau Marmont hotel after allegedly smearing a plate of food on her face in front of guests. Good to hear she's mellowing...

And younger sister Jamie-Lynn's pregnancy has sent shock waves through her fan base and it's also causing turmoil within her family. This morning there are reports that she's no longer dating the baby's 19 year=old father, but the Zoey 101 star's own dad, Jamie Spears, is said to be "devastated" about his daughter's predicament. Us magazine quotes a friend of the family as saying, "Jamie thinks she's ruined her life." Jamie's also angry at mom Lynne for putting together a deal to give exclusive rights to the tale to OK magazine. The friend tells Us, "He put his foot down and refused to take any money and 'profit off of his children.'"

While Jamie-Lynn and her mom are, in fact, due to collect a cool million from the magazine, the deal is actually for the first photos of the baby that the 16-year-old is due to deliver next year. Lynne Spears kept in touch with the folks at OK after Britney's infamous meltdown at a photo shoot for the mag, and believed the editors treated Brit fairly after that incident. Lynne also told OK Magazine: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

News flash to Lynne: not all babies are conceived after curfew. Besides, how could she not have known? Couldn't she hear the bumping and grinding in the other room of the mobile home? Maybe Jamie Lynn misunderstood her mom when she said "why can't you be more like your sister?"
